History
There’s a lot of history to ocean
rowers. Rowing an ocean dates back to over ten thousand years.
Modern rowers both enjoy the advances made over our ancestors,
as well as the continual challenge the earth and Mother Nature
provide.
Today, most of the world’s oceans
have been rowed by at least a team of two rowers. Solo rowers
are still considered unique among ocean rowers.
But our sport is still relatively young,
for the modern age. From animal skin and wood craft to today’s
high-tech materials, one thing has remained the same; man (or
woman) against an ocean, and mother earth.
North Atlantic Ocean Row - North America
to Europe Route:
To date the route from Cape Cod, Mass USA to Europe has only been
completed by 4 solo ocean rowers.
